Welcome to the home base for our 2024 Fic Rec Exchange! This post will house requests, recs, and treats. For full rules, information, timeline, and FAQ, check out our announcement post. To ask questions or request assistance, leave a comment on our help post.

We are currently in the POSTING PERIOD, which means signups are closed! Those who have signed up, you have until December 23rd to post your recs as a reply to your claim on this post. See below for formatting recommendations, though you have freedom to add or streamline as you'd prefer.

If you’d rather just give a treat (a one-off recommendation of any kind of fanwork) with no commitment, come back and join us from November 23rd to December 29th!

When posting a claim, please be sure to include

• 3-5 completed fics for the fandoms requested, if there were any (your recs can all be for the same fandom, or split up between the requests) + any wildcard recs you'd like to add
• Links to the fics you are recommending
• Content warnings for each fic, where relevant
• Length and rating for each fic
• Reccer notes: why are you recommending this fic? What made you think your recipient would like it?

The reccing period will remain open until 12/23 — if you know you're running late, please comment under your claim and let your recipient know when you'll have the recommendations ready by. All posting closes on 12/29, when this post becomes an archive and commenting will be disabled.

Heroes of Tomorrow by LostChanceTo
BNHA, Bakugou/Iida, 75.5k (series total 194k)
Brief Summary: Class 2-A puts on a fashion show; Bakugou grapples with apologies and Iida.
Notes: Incredible work that does so well with the complexity of Bakugou's character. It navigates apologies and shame and friendship and forgiveness super well, and the author does a fantastic job with the ensemble cast. Fun canon-divergent (canon compliant when it was published in 2020) plot and great character and relationship development.
Content Warnings: panic attacks, typical BNHA canon warnings - bullying, implied suicide, implied child abuse, implied sexual harassment

BTS, Jimin/Namjoon, 85.3k
Brief Summary: Jimin breaks up with her boyfriend, stumbles upon a family of her own, and maybe falls in love along the way.
Notes: Perhaps THE rule 63 fic of all time. My go-to rec for sexuality discovery. The author does a great job navigating character development, relationship development, and cultural nuance. I love the found family/ensemble cast so much and I think they really bring the story to life. Tender and lovely and hurts a little.
Content Warnings: homophobia, pregnancy (side character)

BNHA, Todoroki & everyone, 9k
Brief Summary: Todoroki Shouto is sitting cross-legged at his coffee table, hunched over a bowl of instant ramen, when he finds out along with the rest of the world that the Flame Hero, Endeavor, is dead.
Notes: This one does such a good job with the nuances of Todoroki's character, especially in regards to his feelings towards his dad. Guilt + shame + anger + grief. Coming to terms with it all. I love the way Todoroki's other relationships are portrayed too - particularly Bakugou and Aizawa in this one.
Content Warnings: character death, past child abuse - typical Todoroki family warnings

SHINee, Minho/Taemin, 15.2k
Brief Summary: Minho slept with a man while he was in the military. In the wake of his discharge, he works through what this means for his identity, and his relationships.
Notes: I adore this fic. The SHINee dynamics are incredible and done so much justice - the characters themselves and their relationships to each other. The author just writes queerness and coming out and the emotional journey of it all so so well.
Content Warnings: homophobia


collide the spaces that divide us by noirheart (Flumes)
Stray Kids, Seungmin/Changbin, 38.9k
Brief Summary: Seungmin and Changbin debut in rival groups.
Notes: I adore the concept this fic and I think the plot is done super well. I love the way idol culture is treated in this. The little bits of social media really do bring it together. Seungmin's character growth and the relationship development are great and the wider skz/JYP nation ensemble are just lovely.
Content Warnings: woojin is in this because it was written in 2019, if that's a concern for you


Wildcard Rec: sleep paralysis by idrilka
ATEEZ, Seonghwa/Hongjoong, 77.3k
Brief Summary: After they split dorms, Hongjoong starts sleeping in Seonghwa's bed from time to time. Neither of them ever mentions it in the light of day.
Notes: The slow burn to end all slow burns. The way this fic handles queerness and being an idol is so lovely. Not to mention the seongjoong... incredibly written mutual pining. The characterization and the emotional beats are particularly striking. They're so human and it's heart-wrenching. This one hurts in the best way and leaves you feeling a little tender.
