Fic Clique Rec Exchange 2024
Welcome to the home base for our 2024 Fic Rec Exchange! This post will house requests, recs, and treats. For full rules, information, timeline, and FAQ, check out our announcement post. To ask questions or request assistance, leave a comment on our help post.
When posting a claim, please be sure to include
If you'd like to post a one-off treat, title your comment [TREAT] Name of Fandom, and post a recommendation under the thread for the request by 12/29. You can post a treat even if you did not sign up for the event.
We are currently in the POSTING PERIOD, which means signups are closed! Those who have signed up, you have until December 23rd to post your recs as a reply to your claim on this post. See below for formatting recommendations, though you have freedom to add or streamline as you'd prefer.
If you’d rather just give a treat (a one-off recommendation of any kind of fanwork) with no commitment, come back and join us from November 23rd to December 29th!
When posting a claim, please be sure to include
- 3-5 completed fics for the fandoms requested, if there were any (your recs can all be for the same fandom, or split up between the requests) + any wildcard recs you'd like to add
- Links to the fics you are recommending
- Content warnings for each fic, where relevant
- Length and rating for each fic
- Reccer notes: why are you recommending this fic? What made you think your recipient would like it?
If you'd like to post a one-off treat, title your comment [TREAT] Name of Fandom, and post a recommendation under the thread for the request by 12/29. You can post a treat even if you did not sign up for the event.
Thanks so much for joining us and happy reccing! <3

Mod Post: Navigation and Examples of Requests
The following are two examples of requests. One follows the traditional format, and the other picks up our new Any Fandom designation. I wrote these with casual HTML, but you may find it easier to use the rich text editor (toggleable in the dropdown right under the comment title). Note that in the second example I did not answer the last question, since picking "Any Fandom" makes it redundant.
[Request] Heartstopper, The Untamed, The Mandalorian, Haikyuu!
Name: Host Nic
3-5 fandoms you are requesting recs for (optional): Heartstopper, The Untamed, The Mandalorian, Haikyuu!
Likes/dislikes: I love sweet stories with happy endings! No sad endings, please. I tend to most enjoy longer , plottier stories with classic tropes like fake dating and soulmate-identifying marks. Particularly for The Untamed, I love reading about female characters. I don't mind total AUs but I also like stories set in canon. Not a fan of characters being aged down. I'm otherwise pretty easy to please so go wild!
DNW (Do Not Want): Graphic depictions of violence, non-consensual sex, grooming, on-page portrayals of domestic violence
AO3 or any other social media you would like to share with your reccer (optional): ficclique on dreamwidth :) the hottest new place to find us
Are you open to a “wild card” rec that does not fit your requested fandoms?: Yes!

[Request] Any Fandom
Name: Host Nic but chaotic
3-5 fandoms you are requesting recs for (optional*): Any Fandom
Likes/dislikes: For this particular rec exchange request I am seeking your favorite character studies! Let's dive deep into some psyches. I'm open to reading for literally any fandom — if the fic is readable without any context that's even better, but if you have a primer or other source of info for a fic/fandom that would help me understand what's happening or have more feelings then I'd love that and would gladly read it.
My dislikes in fic tend to revolve around overly tidy emotional resolutions and "therapy speak" from characters who are canonically unlikely to be talking that way. I love mess! I don't mind people learning and growing and earning happy endings, just noting that I particularly appreciate people getting it wrong sometimes and finding happiness anyway. Or not! No happy endings required from me.
Other "likes" aside from just character study include hyperspecific portrayals of locations/topics/jobs that make it clear the author is familiar with them, dramatic reveals or plot twists, stories that center strong friendships, breakups (don't psychoanalyze me), and fun banter!
DNW (Do Not Want): COVID-centric stories, child death, animal death
AO3 or any other social media you would like to share with your reccer (optional): None
